The Mighty Vow

As she began her journey from her late friend Jayalalithaa’s residence to Bengaluru for surrendering at a court at the Parappana Agrahara  jail as Sasikala was found guilty of conspiring with Jayalalithaa, to acquire a nearly Rs. 60-crore fortune that did not match their known sources of income.

AIADMK chief V.K. Sasikala bid her farewell to her beloved leaders – ‘Amma’ Jayalalithaa and ‘Puratchi Thalaivar’ MGR – in Chennai Wednesday. Sasikala went from Poes Garden to Jayalalithaa’s memorial. After paying floral tributes to her late friend, Sasikala took a vow—what the party calls as a ‘mighty vow’. She slammed her palm thrice on Jaya’ memorial, mouthing a few words.

Walking out from the memorial in the next 30 minutes, she reached MGR’s Ramavaram Garden, garlanded his statue s.  From there Sasikala began her journey to Bengaluru by road in three cars with Elavarasi and others in the family.
